Who I Am
I find satisfaction in solving dynamic problems by combining computing and engineering intuition.
Initially a programmer on my high school robotics team, I found enjoyment in engineering and was able to use my programming experience to augment the engineering process.

Engineering

SEP-2024 > MAY-2025
Aircraft Concept for Airbus’ Future Projects Office
MATLAB, Autodesk Fusion360, PTC OnShape, COMFAA 3.0, XFLR5
Over nine months, I managed a six-person design team to create a detailed out-size cargo transport aircraft concept. I was personally responsible for landing gear design, cargo logistics planning, and structural analysis of the airframe. At the end, we presented a unique concept to a professional Airbus panel and placed within the top three of nine teams.

JAN-2024 > MAY-2025
Carbon-Fiber Laminate Optimization for Small-Scale Drones
MATLAB, ABAQUS CAE
I conducted a design study of a carbon-fiber drone wingbox using both hand calculations and professional finite-element software. Using non-linear damage analysis, I optimized the wing structure to completely prevent buckling failure at both design and limit loads while reducing mass by 4.7%.

SEP-2023 > MAY-2024
Bio-inspired Wing Coloration for Aircraft Drag Reduction
OpenFOAM, ParaView
Inspired by feather colors in oceanic birds, I identified a possible avenue for drag reduction by altering the surface temperature of aircraft wings. The effects of temperature variation were studied at high Reynolds numbers, where existing research is thin, and found that heating the lower surface by 25˚C can improve cruise drag by 3.8%.
Programming

There’s a bird feeder in my backyard that sees heavy usage throughout the year. Curious about the daytime habits of each species, I purchased a off-the-shelf high-frequency microphone platform and developed a dashboard that identifies birds (via ML) from sound files and tracks the local weather and time of day. I learned that the software also identified air traffic and was able to identify peak times of my local airport!

Looking for a more competitive edge in our university e-sports league, I developed a bespoke web-scraper and data analysis tool to identify the weaknesses of our opponents and the strengths of our team. The program allowed myself and my co-captain to make informed strategy decisions on a per-round basis. Caused a lot of frustration for opposing teams.
Hobbies

AUG-2022
Aluminum-capable Homemade 3-axis CNC Mill
PTC OnShape, CNC Software, Electronics, Hand Tools
Using the MPCNC platform, I built a personal 3-axis CNC to teach myself new fabrication techniques and to expand my fabrication options past 3D printing. Throughout the project I also practiced my wood-working skills and understood the unadulterated engineering joy of McMaster-Carr.

DEC-2024 > PREsENT
Prop-making from the Halo and Fallout Franchises
PTC OnShape, Blender, Electronics, Hand Tools
A foundational experience of my childhood involved playing games from the Halo and Fallout series, and as I gained more hands-on skills I realized I could bring these worlds to life! I made a fully-functional Pipboy 3000 as a gift to my father and have built a few wearable helmets from Halo. The process allows me to practice my CAD, printing, sanding, painting, and vacuum-forming skills while not working.
